On the Record:
Podcasts and Media Appearances

The great Kevin D. Williamson somehow decided I'd be a good guest for his podcast, How the World Works. Go figure.

I was a recent guest on the “Just-In-Time Café” podcast, where I was interviewed by Elisabeth Swan and Tracy O’Rourke about my new book, If Engagement is the What, Then Respect is the How.

Note: The interview with me begins about 20 minutes in.

“The First Responder Playbook” is a podcast that describes itself as “your go-to guide for building bold, battle-tested leaders in the world of public safety…Each episode dives into candid conversations with law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and thought leaders who are shaping the future of first responder training.” Frankly, I had my doubts about the fit between what I might have to say and this podcast’s audience. But host Brent Colbert and I wound up having a conversation that was, I think, quite applicable in his world, and I’m really grateful to have been invited as his guest.

I was recently a guest on the “Business Prowess” podcast, in which the host, Dr. Andrea Adams-Miller and I discussed—you guessed it—my new book, If Engagement is the What, Then Respect is the How.

I recently did a podcast on Yollab Central. They titled it: "Respect > Trust > Empowerment > Engagement.” I think that’s a perfect title that perfectly captures the gist of our 30-minute conversation.

I had the opportunity to be a guest on the “Transformational Thinkers” podcast with Sara Sheehan.

I recently appeared on the "Speaking Prowess" podcast. What made this different was the fact that it wasn’t just me talking to a host. Rather, I was part of a four-person panel. Also, the topic on the table wasn’t my book (although it did come up). Instead it was a more free-wheeling discussion about the broader issue of communication in general. As I think you’ll see, I had a blast doing it. Hope you feel the same way watching it.

The Climb: Confident Leader Podcast

I had the chance to engage with Rahul Karan Sharma about engagement on “The Climb: Confident Leader Podcast.” To listen—it’s audio-only—just click here. Season 2 Episode 10: Respect Before Engagement: Building Confidence Culture.
(Yeah, I’m not crazy about two colons in one title, but whattayagonnado?)

Lubar Executive Education Podcast

I was a recent guest on a podcast hosted by Mike Markiewicz, the Director of Executive Programs for the Sheldon B. Lubar College of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. We talked about—what else—Employee Engagement. I hope you find the conversation to be as interesting as I did. The episode is titled, Being Clearer And More Consistent About What Drives Employee Engagement.
